Situation
Currently, the PlantPAx suite includes a configuration tool to create alarms and importing them into FactoryTalk View SE. However, this tool has some limitations, such as the ability to define custom messages, groups, process areas, and set an update rate for each tag or batch of tags. Which represented a problem for the development of the project, due to its complexity and magnitude
The solution
With Microsoft Excel, a practical and easy-to-use tool was developed in which you can enter the tags for each control module type, configure the PLC shortcut, and the alarm server groups. With this information, personalized alarms can be generated for the Factory Talk View server. This allows the user the possibility to configure update rates and appropriate messages for their process.
The results
The development of this tool made it possible to enhance alarm creation management by segregating them by control module type, customizing properties and messages more quickly and easily. This results in a more reliable process that better aligns with customer requirements.
